Plugin blocks wysiwyg-Editor in back end

  • Thanks for the plugin, which works fine in the front end.

    In the back end the visual view of the editor doesn’t function, when the plugin is active. There is no floating around a little picture for example, too YOAST doesn’t mark any more text passages. The preview of the editor however works fine.

    A not admin user cannot disable the plugin for editing text or using Yoast. A hint from you would be great.

  • What version of WordPress are you using? Is this 5.0 with the Gutenberg editor? And which Yoast plugin are you using – the paid SEO one, or the free SEO one, or something else?

    thanks for your quick response.

    I’m using the free version of YOAST (wordpress-seo.9.2.1) and WP 4.9.6.

    As already said all functions well in the front end, but the visual button of the WP-editor does only functions normally, if LF Hiker is diabled.

    I’m using essentially the same configuration (WP 4.9.8, Yoast 9.2.1) and I have no problem with the WP-editor in visual mode.

    I would suggest that you try deactivating all of your other plugins, see if that resolves the issue, then try adding them one at a time and testing. I often find that different plugins interfere with each other, although LF Hiker generally has not been the source of a problem. I had issues with it and one other plugin that worked with Google Maps, but that ended up being an issue with how Google Maps wants things to work.

    Thanks for the hints, that’s exactly what I’ve done to find this out.

    I’m using now annother plugin, OSM, for this task and all works well.
    It’s not so comfortable as LF Hiker, but it works till now.
    We will see how long. And WP5 will be another thing.

    P.S. I’m using WP 4.9.4

    I use the classic editor and custom css to style it to resemble the site. I tried out LF Hiker but had to stop partly because it also seems to have css that styles the editor, and takes priority. It really shouldn’t.
