    I love this plugin ??

Everything works fine, except that… strangely enough, when I look at a map on my phone (Nokia C7, Symbian^3, screen size 640×360) the map (set as 300×300) does not display any visible placemark. The placemarks are visible when accessing the same page/ map from the desktop, both when using Firefox 5 and IE 9.

I don’t think this is a problem with the phone browser, because if I tap on the link of the location (from the list of placemarks), I am forwarded to maps.google.com and the placemark is there.

I also went directly with my phone browser to maps.google.com and tried both the “mobile” and “classic” version. Placemarks are always visible…

    Any clue?

Hey Flavio, I don’t have a smartphone to test it with, but I’ll try to think of what might cause that when I start working on the next release.

If you add several placemarks to the map, are any of them visible?
Can you send me the URL to the page so I can take a look?

    Thanks for the quick feedback.

There are several placemarks on the map, both “custom” and “undefined” (google′s standard). None of them is visible.

But in fact… I’ll still try to see how it looks like on Android and iPhone, before coming back… if it’s a Symbian problem after all, there is no reason to loose time on it (as you probably know, Nokia decided to install Windows Phone on all their future products and Symbian is going to die).

I just released version 1.3, and it has some significant changes to the way the placemarks are loaded. I’m not sure if it’ll help with this problem or not, but it’s worth a shot to upgrade and find out.

    Hi Jan

I owed you a feedback, but coincidentally it was not until today that I put my hands on an iPhone ??

Placemarks were visible on Android before and after the upgrade.

I didn’t test iPhone before the upgrade, but placemarks are visible now.

Placemarks are not yet visible on Nokias Symbian^3 smartphones (my C7) but this is not so relevant. A new release of the OS (incl. a new browser) is waited for autumn, but since this OS has a very low market share and it is doomed to death anyway, I don’t think it is worth spending more time about ??

    I would say: case closed!

Awesome, glad to hear it. Thanks for checking it out ??

Favor for me: could you check on your iphone, my page at
    https://dhah2011.accountsupport.com/locationmap/
and see if the placemark is showing. If it is, I am not going to fuss with the issue on my *^(*%(##!!@*&^^ BlackBerry.
    Thanks!!

    LS,

I consider to use this pulgin. But how to switch/show normal or satellite map?

    Thnx
