[Plugin: AutoNav Graphical Navigation and Gallery Plugin] Featured Images not being found

    Hi there, and thanks indeed for a wonderful plugin. I have been messing about with ad hoc lines of code to do this in the past so I’m pleased to have found this.

    I’m looking to output title, thumb and excerpt, I’m using PHP code in a widget to do this.

    Despite checking that each page has a “Featured Image”, AutoNav won’t pick this up. I have added a URL to one page in the custom field and that has worked. You can see my example here: https://britishletterpress.co.uk/letterpress-guides/

    The top page has the image (specified in the custom field), but the others cannot be found.

    Will the “featured image” call work from the raw PHP code; and is there any way to force the plugin to use the featured image?

    Curious. Is there any difference if you use display=images instead of display=list ? Please email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to help debug this.

    Hello Bill and thanks indeed for the swift response.

    I’ve just tried “images” rather than “list”, but get “MissingImage” repeated for each sub-page.

    I’ve set you up as a user if you want to have a look around.

    Looks like your ISP has disabled the operation of the glob() function… AutoNav depends on that to find the various sized thumbnails. Have your ISP switch on the glob function.

    I do plan on releasing v1.4.3, which will not rely on the problematic glob() function, quite soon.

    I should have added that I’d be happy to test any “beta” version of the plugin that doesn’t need ‘glob’.

    Here is a pre-release 1.4.3 … this includes optimization of directory scanning, preliminary PDF thumbnail support, a patch to properly name thumbnails of PNGs and GIFs as .jpg, ignoring spaces in the display modifiers, and an expanded filter set. It replaces glob() with opendir() and readdir(). If you test it, please let me know how well it works in your environment.

    rename that without the .txt and replace your current autonav-wl.php

    I am wondering if I am having the same problem or a different one.. I am getting the “Missing Images”… https://deegandhi.com/photography/ I have it working on https://deegandhi.com/photography/music/ but that’s probably because they are directly attached to that page. Please let me know what you think I need to do to get this working. Thanks so much!
