[Plugin: Automatic Youtube Video Posts Plugin] just doesn't import video's

I updated the plugin and now it is no longer giving me the place to add YouTube User accounts like it did before. Is it now the Channel place now that I have to make an individual playlist for each and every User or how does it work now ??

There is now a menu option “Channel/Playlist”. From this page you can add channels and playlists and configure each individually.

Thanks for the update. I have an issues with myhosting.com. I keep getting an error message when I add a new channel. I’ll start a new topic on this.

@supervinnie40, believe it or not, I don’t own a video capable mobile device. From Firefox, the feed page is blank. Last time I looked (long time ago) I had the mobile option checked on my youtube account. The URL m.youtube.com/users/shaleshock doesn’t work and then it does. Seems to be confusion between use shaleshock and user shaleshockmedia. I see that something isn’t right.

In the Channel/Playlist page it has 2 textfields.
“Name” and “Channel/Playlist”.
At “Name” I just entered something that would remind me later which youtube feed that is. At “Channel/Playlist” I just entered the username on YouTube. Can you confirm that this is how it is supposed to be filled in? I couldn’t find anything that explains how the information should be entered. The complete URL? The RSS URL? Just the username?

Annoying that the feed doesn’t seem to work. There are multiple RSS feeds possible, and only a few work almost everytime. The problem is mostly that YouTube doesn’t support RSS anymore. The API that helps to create them is still working, but it’s not maintained. The same problem is with Twitter.
I’m not really sure how to solve your problem. Perhaps there is a forum on the web that’s dedicated to YouTube? They might be able to help you.

I love this Plugin. But the Version 3.0 have many bugs.

1. The Plugin doesnt import the Videos complete. The video name and the description is not always imported

2. how to add Playlists? I tried it with the Playlistname, Playlist ID and wth the complete URL of the Playlist. Nothing is working.

The Second Problem is not so really bad. But the first Problem. That is hard. Pleasy fix it.

You only want the ID of the list as opposed to the whole list’s URL.

As far as your first request goes, this is an encoding issue. Some of your titles and descriptions have characters in them that are not UTF-8. When adding the post the query that adds the title and the content fails due to your database most likely being UTF-8. I’ve run tests all day and added some changes in version 3.0.1. Let me know if they help.

Another Problem

So are the Post in 1 category the Thumbnail is showing. But with 2 or more Categorys the Thumbnail not showing. Because the Video ID is not in the Custom Field. But the Video is showing. This is so strange.

When there is an import currently taking place please click the second button on the reset screen to fix this.

Can you show me an example of the other issue?

Well I fist would like to congratulate you as this is perhaps my favourite plugin as it allows you to keep links and so on on your database. thats Awesome! Still I ran into some troubles when trying to import videos from a particular playlist ID.
It just doesn’t work… no worries with the videos from a Channel but playlist is another story…
This is just a fresh install of wordpress and no other plugins were installed when I tried.
I do love your plugin and even prefer it over tubepress as it may let others comment on a particular video instead of just watching a playlist gallery in your site that you are unable to RATE nor Comment on individual videos. Yours instead is just great if it works. If you need some repro steps im happy to help you identify what the problem is.

@luchidario, so your playlists aren’t importing? Are you adding the ID of the playlist or the entire playlist URL?
