OOPS! We just realized we were accidentally serving ads about 25% of the time to all users for the last few days. DOH!

We’re very sorry and sincerely apologize to anyone who was receiving ads the last few days. We have been working behind the scenes on our “Fun.ly Cash” system, which allows the average twitter user to make money just by tweeting like they normally do. Somewhere in there we were accidentally serving ads about a quarter of the time… and didn’t even realize it. Fun.ly Cash will be OPT-IN only and we will not serve ads on any links unless it’s explicitly allowed and agreed upon beforehand by the user generating the link.

Again our sincerest apologies, we’ve fixed the issue now-

If anyone is interested in pre-registering for fun.ly cash, you can do so at https://fun.ly/cash. To the rest of the users of the plugin that do not wish to participate, you don’t have to do anything or do any kind of an ‘opt-out’.

By default we will not be serving ads on the fun.ly platform, ads will only be served on links created by users who are enrolled in Fun.ly Cash.

    Sincerest apologies,

William – respectfully, it looks like this issue has not been resolved. I installed the plugin this week and our first new post was Tweeted properly, but the fun.ly URL generated did the following:

Using Chrome 10.0.648.204 on Windows 7

    – I was brought to a blank landing page with a generic “If you are not redirected automatically click here” link. This landing page did not redirect me.

    – I clicked the redirect link and was brought to the blog post, but was also hit with a popup ad page.

Any chance you guys would look into this? Let me know if I can provide any other info that might be helpful.

    Jeff

Yes this started happening to me too. I had set this up for a few of my clients, and I’m now going through all sites and making sure that none use this plugin. Very disappointing, since it was a plugin that seemed to actually work and suit my needs. But sending users to ads is a dealbreaker. And “D’oh” is not a suitable answer.

Great idea, poor execution. Get rid of the ads, please.
