  • Hi Bridgetwes,
Good that you are on top of things!

Yes, the plugin ownership changed hands a few months back (November 2015). We have been busy with so many projects that when someone was interested in taking over the plugin, we decided it would allow us redirect our focus, so it changed hands at that time.

I still do post some in the support forum when there are simple/general questions about the plugin or best practices, as I know the plugin well and don’t mind helping out when I can. Feature requests and bug fixes are now outside of my control, but when there is a simple fix or a question worthy of a quick answer, I will always offer my help and input.

    Warmest regards,
    Don

Thank you for the quick reply Don! I totally understand being busy and having limited time to support a free plugin. I also have a plugin in the repository that has much fewer users and forum questions than Quick Page/Post Redirect, while running my own web development business – and I totally get that responding to a lot of forum questions can eat away at your limited free time. Thank you for the time you spent on the plugin. It is really useful and easy to use.

Would you mind explaining how you found anadnet to take over your plugin or would anadnet tell us a little about him or herself? I always check out the plugin authors before using plugins, but there isn’t much information about anadnet on here.

    Thanks!
    Bridget

    Bridget,
They approached me about the plugin initially.

Anadnet is part of a bigger company. Unfortunately, I cannot disclose who they are or what they do, other than that they do have an interest in a theme business of sorts, and that may (or may not) have been related to why they wanted to take over the plugin. Sounds mysterious, I know, but I signed paperwork that legally prevents me from discussing it publicly. One of my conditions was that they still support and update the plugin on the Repository.

When there was a problem with the plugin a few months back, they created a patch and updated it pretty quickly, so they do care about it. And they have reached out to me about suggestions to possible future updates as well, which is great.

    Hopefully that helps a bit.

    Warmest regards,
    Don

Oh – and one other thing that may be of interest…

We still use the plugin ourselves on hundreds of existing sites and use add it to new ones we create. I also personally use it on my own sites – the same one that is in the Repository.

    Warmest – Don

Thank you for the information Don. Well, that answer is weirder than I expected. ?? It is good to know you are still using the plugin on many sites.
