  • In Safari (my version is 3.2.1), when you have more than one player on a page and click play on one to stop playback on another, an error is generated in the status bar and the Activity window.

This is happening on my site, and it has happening on other people’s sites as well.

Any ideas why? Or a potential fix? ??

if you check the activity window you’ll see it’s just an ‘operation could not be completed’ on the asset that’s stopped being streamed. so i think it’s a deliberate feature to stop the download completing.

if you stop playing a file that’s finished downloading you don’t get it.

Just wanted to give a public thanks to Martin Laine. After trying out a bunch of options, I implemented his player on my long-running music site, Disquiet.com.

All the applicable posts on the front page now have the player embedded, and I put up a little announcement here:

    Best,

    hi,
The Link URL buttons don’t work..
i’m using wp2.7ja with safari 3.2.1 for Mac.

Sorry my ignorance, but how can i use the patched file??

I’m struggling to get this working at all, I’m using, Version 2.0 beta 6 of the plugin, on WordPress Version 2.7.1

I’ve installed the plugin and have placed a text widget in the side bar. Then I’ve typed into the text widget the following.
    [audio:https://www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/myaudiofile.mp3%5D
When I save an publish the widget then view the page all i see is the line of code and no player?

    [audio:https://www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/myaudiofile.mp3%5D

What have I done wrong? I’m using a theme from https://www.woothemes.com called OverEasy. I’ve uninstalled and re-installed the plugin twice and still getting the same thing?

Please can anyone help me on this? It must be something little I’m missing? I’ve scanned through all of the posts in this thread and you all seem to at least be getting the player to show where as I’ve not even got that to work?

@bbacarat You need to get shortcodes working in widgets.

    More info here: https://hackadelic.com/the-right-way-to-shortcodize-wordpress-widgets

Installed 2.0 and activated OK. Select add audio button and copy and paste exact url. Player does not show in FF or IE. Download link only – which does work

    Your thoughts?

    Hey,

I really like the player and installed the very latest beta, but I still have the problem with the big white gap around it. I see lots of website using the player and all the time it seems okay, but not on my website. Is there some workaround or did I do something wrong? Thanks!! Alex

    hi
i have seen this player on lots of sites. It is fantastic. I’m trying to use it in my site and i just can’t get it to work. I’m trying beta 2 coz the original version was also giving me problems.
I am trying to add a file here https://www.schmelfhelp.co.uk/silakka/?page_id=5 but when i do it says file not found. The folder I am saving into verifies and i am saving it in the correct place.

Also if I use the uploader and try to click audio player for the link thhen the url field just goes blank…

I have just set this wordpress up – do i need to install something else as well?

    Hi,

the player is great and very versatile, I have no problems with FF3, Chrome and with the enclosure option Feedburner now finds all instances of mp3s but for some reason I have IE7 reporting an error: “J.parentNode is null or not an object”. I’m using VVQ (to try I’ve replaced it with Smart youTube) and I also use NextGEN Gallery. I downloaded the Version 2.0 beta 6 and read in the change log that Fixed nasty bug for IE7 (conflicted with other swfobject implementations). Is this the same conflict I’m having? if so please advise on how to solve it.

    Regards,
    Eric

problemmaths I don’t know if this can help you but I had a “file not found” problem today; My original file was big so I’ve split it in 2, calling them part#1.mp3 and part#2.mp3; when I took out the # the files were found.

Is there any way to add this player to the list of mp3 players in Podpress 8.8? It has the old version of the player as an option already…?

    Hi Martin,

I’m relatively new to WP, etc. Sort of coming from a classic .asp world.
Anyway, I’ve got my godaddy account set up and WP 2.7.1 running, and having no luck displaying the player in a blog post. I have your latest plug in installed (not beta). Incompatible?

links like [audio:mymp3.mp3], or direct reference don’t work.

Sorry for this showing up in your beta announcement thread (I’m also digging into the sea of all the right places to look for answers on WP).

    Thanks a bunch,
    Adam

    @ alexleonard

Hi Alex, I’ve implemented this code:

    if (!is_admin())
    add_filter(‘widget_text’, ‘do_shortcode’, SHORTCODE_PRIORITY);

    into the theme’s functions.php file.
However I’m still getting the same issue with the links not showing up correctly, any more ideas??

1pixelout is a wonderful player, we use it all over Hearing Voices.

but i was wondering if any thot was being given to having the flash throw off Event Handlers (especially: player-finished, maybe also: player-paused) that could be captured by JavaScript, like the Wimpy player does:
    https://www.wimpyplayer.com/docs/mp3/index.php

would make your fine player even finer. btw, i donated a couple years ago; time for me to send you some more $s. thanks for your work.

Hi, I’d like to say this is a great player. It seems to be working perfectly. I need to figure out an alignment issue.. not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have WP 2.7.1 installed and Audio Player beta 6.

When I post a page with text and have the Audio player inserted in the middle of a sentence, it breaks down to the next line. How do I get it to stay in the same line as the text?
