    To all:

    Audio Player 2.0 beta 6 is now available.

    This release should fix problems with IE7 and conflicts with other plugins which resulted in a broken admin panel.

    The new release also includes a full French translation file.

    Enjoy!

    @tikkune and others:

    This is how the “pause download” feature works: If you open a player and close it again, the download doesn’t stop. If you have multiple players on one page, open one of them and then open another one, the first player closes and stops downloading the file.

    I thought long and hard about how to implement this feature and I think this is a good compromise. If you simply pause a player, you might want to wait for the download to complete before listening to the entire track.

    However, if you open another player, you don’t want the first one to carry on downloading as this could cause bandwidth issues.

    I hope this is now clear.

    Martin:

    Thanks — something in those instructions worked for me. The player is now showing.

    Thanks for all the work you do with this plugin! It’s great.

    I have a question about the standalone version. I am not able to figure out how to get the play to play multiple audio files. do you have to set it to go to the next file or does it just play continuously?

    Also how do you set up the additional audio files?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi.
    I’ve been trying to use your plugin but all that shows up is:

    “Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip.(…)”

    I can see other players and the admin panel looks fine.
    And I think the files were placed correctly.
    Just in case, the website is https://www.psy.cafe4.us

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Well, I looked all through this thread but couldn’t find the help I need. I know there’s a lot of questions going around but what can I do, I just spent 6 hours installing the thing ??

    This is the page I’m using the player on
    https://www.TzSofit.co.il/skits.html

    You’ll notice I’ve got 38 different players on the page. When I hit play on one of them – they work fine – Only after 3 PLAY buttons being hit (and paused obviously, not played simultaniously) – The players cease to react. They load the files but refuse to play anything.

    Any ideas?

    Anyway, I really admire and appreciate your work. Great job.

    @evil-twinsen:

    This is a known issue with Firefox and many Flash players on one page. Read this: https://wpaudioplayer.com/support/troubleshooting

    At the moment, the only solution is to reduce the number of players on your page.

    Martin

    Hey man. Yeah I’ve seen it, thing is in my page it DOES load at start but stops after I try to open the 4th one. So I thought maybe my issue was different.

    I’ll try going for 10 players a page. Thanks!

    One more thing, where do I subscribe for updates on the player? Also, I understand Flash 10 is supposed to fix this – any idea when it’s gonna be released?

    @evil-twinsen:

    Yes, this is exactly what happens when you have many players on one page. The first few work OK but then all mp3 playback in ANY flash movie stops working until you restart Firefox.

    I have no idea when Flash 10 will be released. I’d guess pretty soon because it is now a release candidate rather than in beta.

    Hi Martin,

    I finally fix my problem with a silly solution: disable “Adblock” add-on. I reinstall the Firefox 3, but the real conflict is with “Adblock”.

    Anyway, really thank’s for your help and for this great plugin.

    Marcio.

    Thanks Martin. I really appreciate your help, you people are inspiring.

    A question, I have switched on the setting that encodes the urls to where the audio files are but when I use my blog readers (Vienna & Google’s blog reader), they still enable anyone to download the file. Is there anyway to prevent that? Thanks.

    @amy_alsandair:

    It looks like your theme doesn’t call the required wp_head() WordPress function in the header. If you can, check the header.php file of your theme and make sure you add this just before the closing head tag (</head>). Should look like this:

    ...

    <?php wp_head(); ?>

    </head>
    <body>

    ...

    I’m using the standalone player as part of an internal website and it’s been working great for over a year. However about the same time as the May IE7 update, the player stopped working in IE but still works fine in Firefox. Currently in IE7, it just says “Buffering…” all the time. Using fiddler, it looks like it doesn’t attempt to contact the server to get the mp3 file.

    In IE7, the mp3 file can be directly accessed by entering the URL – it plays with the quicktime player with no problem. I’ve tested with the earlier version we’ve been using and the new version of the player (2.0b6), but get the same issue with both.

    So, it looks like the browser can access the file, but it won’t play with the flash audio player. Does anybody have any suggestions?
