  • I’m using the latest WP audio player, standalone version (player.swf dated 7/11/2008). I find it does ‘not’ stop downloading on ‘pause’, as suggested in:

    https://wpaudioplayer.com/whatsnew

Is that the standalone player on the ‘whatsnew’ page, because it doesn’t seem to stop downloading on ‘pause’ either.

Can anyone confirm success with ‘pause’ stopping download? I’ve got 30 minute MP3 files I’d like to feed, and stopping download on ‘pause’ would really help performance.

WordPress Audio Player standalone documentation I reviewed was missing the ‘killdownload’ property, which is required to stop a download in progress. Note: killdownload: “yes” kills the download of a player (player 1), and closes that player only when another player (player 2) on that page is opened while player 1 is still playing. In WPAP 2.0 beta 5, the download is not halted when you open and close the same player, even with the killdownload: “yes” property set.

While WordPress Audio Player standalone is working on a FrontPage site, when I try to use the player on an ASP.NET site, it works OK – except for the auto-close feature, where player_1 closes automatically when player_2 is started, when I have multiple players on one page. It seems like the players don’t know about each other – or ‘hear’ each other – on the ASP.NET site.

Has anyone successfully placed WordPress Audio Player (standalone) on an ASP.NET site, with multiple players on one page? Does anyone have any ideas why the auto-close player feature works on FrontPage site, but not on a DotNetNuke ASP.NET site?

Its working here on php…..as it should i think, the players DO hear each other, so when one opens the other one closes. I thought that is just JS to limit the player.

also when it closes, the download DOESNT seem stop by default.

REQUEST: can we have the speaker with the sound wave in motion when playing and the volume slider on rollover?

Love the plugin. A problem, though, similar to the mentioned by saxwell. I’m using it in a google map mashup, and it shows up fine in safari, but doesn’t show up in firefox. It’s there though, just invisible (I know where the start and pause buttons are, which is good for me. Not so much for anybody else.

Standalone version, fyi. Any recommendations appreciated.

    Thanks, Hugh

I have a site here, test.seeringspianocafe.com and I don’t see the stand-alone player in IE but I don’t have any problem in FF. Thanks for an ideas.

The player should be showing up next to the gallery box in the middle.

When I try and go to settings in the admin panel, I get this error:
Warning: AudioPlayer::include(/home/oswegoon/public_html/shawnmaxwell/wp-content/plugins//home/oswegoon/public_html/shawnmaxwell/wp-content/plugins/php/options-panel.php) [audioplayer.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/oswegoon/public_html/shawnmaxwell/wp-content/plugins/audio-player.php on line 532

    Warning: AudioPlayer::include() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘/home/oswegoon/public_html/shawnmaxwell/wp-content/plugins//home/oswegoon/public_html/shawnmaxwell/wp-content/plugins/php/options-panel.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/oswegoon/public_html/shawnmaxwell/wp-content/plugins/audio-player.php on line 532

It looks like something is wrong with the pluginPath on line 532 in this file, but I cannot figure out where it’s doubled up on the path or whatever. I have Beta 5, and am running WP 2.6.

    Any ideas?
    THanks!

I’d like to be able to have more than one audio player going at once via the WP plug-in — the .js file seems to preclude that, however.

Is there any (relatively) easy way to make that happen?
    Thanks!

Strangely enough, in version 2.0b5 I’m receiving the “operation aborted” message within IE 7 on Vista. Of course IE 6 on XP, Firefox, Safari and everything in between are working fine.

Is it my theme? Does this version of the plugin work fine in Vista IE 7 for others?

    Thx…

I am trying to put multiple mp3’s on one standalone player. Is this possible? Any examples of syntax for me? Thanks.

My problem appears to be having the swfobject.js file used for another item (slideshow) conflicting with this one… still trying to figure out how to have 2 different flash elements on the page without the “operation aborted” message coming up. Suggestions?

Removing my manual entry of swfobject.js causes my other item to not show up now unfortunately.

I just installed Version 2.0 beta 5 the WordPress plugin and it works just fine. The only problem that I am running into is customizing the colors in the admin panel. The color picker doesn’t work, it doesn’t even open. I did however noticed that the “moocolorpicker” is open at the very bottom of the admin page. I am assuming that error is what is preventing me from being able to customize the colors. Only problem is I don’t know how to fix the error which is why I came her to find help.

I have already completely uninstalled and re-installed but there was no change. I am running WordPress Version 2.6 if that helps.

Thank you in advanced for your help. This is an awesome plugin!

I am coming across the same issue as webmattster and the post is also spitting out a frequent issue in these comments:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

I’ve checked to ensure all folders are correct, have played around with the media tool in the post and typing in the [audio:songname.mp3] versus [audio:https://site.com/…/song.mp3%5D but nothing seems to be working. I can see other players, so it shouldn’t be the Flash Player or JavaScript (I checked to ensure I was using the most updated version of Flash and Java is enabled).

You can see the post here.

Great plug-in… I’m a recent WordPress transplant in the process of switching over from Joomla!

    Hi!

Great plugin… currently using the beta of 2.0, but I have one minor problem.

    My page: https://cobra4.open.ac.uk/candace

I would like to stop the audio player from appearing on the front page (within excerpts). I have specified alternate text in the options panel, but I still seem to get the audio player anyway! It would be fantastic to keep the player in the full article!

    Thanks,

    …Joe.

FYI… There is a conflict with the audio player and the Kimili Flash Embed plugin. If you have flash installed anywhere else on the page using that plugin, IE7 gives a fatal error and fails to open. I am not sure if you are aware of it, but it may be something you want to look into for future releases. Thanks.

Hi, I seem to be having partly the same problem as fense:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

The plugin seems to be installed ok and everything looks fine in the admin panel.

I tried using both absolute urls and files in the default folder. Same result.

I’ve tested on Firefox 3.0.1 and Safari 3.1.2. I’m using WordPress 2.6 and WP Audio Player 2.0b5.

This looks like a great plugin for my site so any help is appreciated.
