• This is a great plugin. I’ve tried a lot of different things over the last few week to get audio into my posts at https://xanthe.rarely.org.

In the future, it would be great to have the following features:

    1) HTML5 – for mobile applications
    2) Flash 10 support for OGG/Vorbis encoded files (gapless playback?)

  • I’m interested in #1 as well, or something along those lines. I’m thinking a HTML5 fallback for those without Flash, but whose browser supports HTML5, which most often is probably mobile users.

I’d also be very interested in the flash player (and HTML5 fallback, if one gets created) having some basic events that can be plugged into via javascript. Specifically it would be useful to me to have events for when the user presses Play and for when the file reaches the end and the player closes. That way I can script Google Analytics events to fire for each of those and have a better idea of how many users are playing a file and also how many are listening to completion.

Thanks for a great plugin! (I use the stand alone version, by the way.)

For those who are using the standalone player I have realized that one can just create the HTML5 audio tag in the same container that the Flash player will replace. Then, if the user does not have flash they will be left with the HTML5 audio tag. If there browser supports it they will get a HTML5 audio player and if not they won’t get anything (other than whatever else you put into the fallback container with the HTML5 audio tag.
