[Plugin: Apture] being discontinued – looking for alternatives

I recently received an email from Apture telling me that the “embed” functionality that I’ve used for the last two years to embed PDF’s into posts is going away on March 30. Does anyone know of an alternative that provides a simple point and click interface for uploading the PDF file and then automatically entering the magic code into the post?

As for alternatives, I already know about Google Doc Embedder and that is almost as good, but it requires the person writing the post to know the URL of the file they just uploaded (via a separate process) – Apture always handled the upload and insertion of the code for us.

I have to make this as simple as possible for the non-technical post authors.
