• Hi there,
first of all, the idea of the plugin is great. But there are some things I don’t understand. When viewing the calendar in backend it looks “kind of” good. When adding a new date a window appears that looks like it was designed at least. When viewing the calendar in frontend:
    – There is only 1 field where the user can click onto.
    – After clicking, a default jquery-ui-interface in orange appears where the user needs to pick a date and a time etc…
Is there a reason that the way nicer backend calendar wasn’t used in frontend?

Also when I click in backend to “booking management” there are already some dummy entries. These cannot be deleted, even if I change them to “cancelled” first. Also new entries cannot be deleted.

I think the plugin is not working as supposed is it?

BTW: It would be very cool if there would be the following function: The admin can insert dates which the user can select in frontend and book something. In my case only several hours per week can be booked, so at the moment the administrator needs to make not the couple of bookable events but create “unbookable” events week after week so that only a couple of hours remain where users can book something.

    Hi thisismyalterego,

[Q]. Is there a reason that the way nicer backend calendar wasn’t used in frontend?
[A]. Yes, it not compatible with all wp-themes, each theme has its different content part(loop: where posts appears). but all WordPress admin dashboard has same view stucture, so its work fine there.

[Q]. I think the plugin is not working as supposed is it?
[A]. At this time we have few issue or bugs with plugin, but a good new is that we developing a stable application system for our users.

Thanking you for your interest with Appointment-Calendar!

    Hi Frank,
sounds good ?? I’m really looking forward to the next version

What do you think of my suggested function? I guess for a lot of users it might be useful. In my case I’m using the plugin for a driving school. At least the possibility for a client to click on a specific time which is preselected after that would be great.

    Hi Alter Ego,

As Frank said, we chose a different calendar on the frontend because of compatibility issues.

Plugin in current state has some bugs and issues which make it difficult to use.

We are now rewriting the whole system. This time around we are using a proper MVC framework to make sure the system is stable and feature rich. So it will work with other sites along with wordpress.

As for the suggested feature, incorporating it in current wordpress plugin would be pretty difficult.

However in the new version there will be concept of holidays, so Admin can create holidays leaving only 2 days per week as open. Holidays could be either be single date holiday or a date range holiday.

Would this kind of arrangement work for your case?

    Hi Ankit,
the holiday-thingie sounds fair enough. It will cause some work for the administrator to do this because maybe they see on thursday that they can offer driving lessons on friday at 5 pm for example and then they have to rearrange their “holidays” but I guess this might work. ??

Thanks for your answers and good luck for the new version
