[Plugin: Ambrosite Next/Previous Post Link Plus] Formatting the date for %meta custom field

Hi there,

Many thanks for the great plugin!

I am using it to navigate between posts sorted by a meta key: event_date

I can output the actual date selected with this custom field, using %meta

Is there any way I can format this custom field date, in the same way I can for %date? Using date_format is only meant for formatting the actual post date, I guess.
