[Plugin: All in One SEO Pack] Home Page not recognized as such

    Hello there!

    I used Platinum SEO for some time, but would like to switch to the AIO Pack. Today I installed it on my dev environment and noticed that it correctly sets the title, description and keywords for my home page (which Platinum SEO does not), but the plug-in does unfortunately not add additional home headers (same as Platinum SEO).

    I suppose that this has got something to do with the way that my design template handles the home page. From some perspective it seems to be just a regular page. However, since the AIO Pack correctly identifies the home page for setting the title and description, I am wondering whether you can do the same trick for also the header.

    Are you using a static page as your front page? All in One SEO Pack uses the WordPress function is_home() to determine when to add headers on the home page, which means you might want to use page headers for static home pages. We’ll be making this more clear and add more options to handle this in the next major release.

    Hi Peter,

    My front page is indeed a static page. The theme’s template is even called “home – static”. ?? So does that mean that my theme does not set the page header correctly?

    Because it’s a page, currently you’d have to put headers in the Page Headers section, not the Home Headers section; ‘home’ in WordPress originally / internally means the blog page. The next major release will have a Front Page Headers section that will fix this issue.

    I see. Thank you for the explanation! I suppose I will wait for the release that fixes the issue. It’s not an urgent matter, but eventually I would like to return to the All In One SEO Pack. Again, thanks for your help!
