• Hi,

    The plugin works great, but it seems to have overridden the custom css I have used to fine tune the layout of the message and form.

    Previously I had applied the custom css to the form class for this particular page. This was working fine. When I applied the change password message plugin, the custom css no longer applied itself to the message, just the form. My problem is that the message text seems to be styled by a generic class, so if I apply my custom css to this, it changes a whole bunch of things throughout the site. Are you able to help me troubleshoot this issue?

    Thanks,
    Helen

    Hi @helenbutt,

    There are a few ways to approach the CSS styling. Just before I recommend anything regarding that, let’s check which version of the plugin you are using. We released an update recently. Just to confirm, are you using version 2.0.1 on the site?

    Hi,

    I’m using version 2.0.1

    Thanks for confirming.

    What is the CSS you are using currently? I’ll take a look at how to make it work nicely on the page

    I am using:

    .post-password-form {
    padding-top: 6%;
    padding-bottom: 6%;
    text-align: center;

    }

    This is working for the form, but it is not being applied to the message.

    However if I use this css without the plugin, it does get applied to the generic wordpress password protected message.

    Thanks,
    Helen

    I think we may actually be able to fix this for you via an update. We’ve just pushed version 2.0.2 now. Please update and let me know if that works for you. It should re-apply that CSS automatically.

    Sorry, I spoke too soon. When I reloaded the page the layout error persists.

    Hi Helen,

    I think you might need to clear your browser cache. I have viewed the page and it appears to be working for me – https://imgur.com/asZddY4

    If there is also a caching plugin installed on the website, please make sure that is cleared also.

    Sorry, I just realised the text is most likely centred as the message is returned to the default. Is your custom message still enabled by the plugin? Or have you deactivated it?

    I’ve taken off the custom message and reverted to the default one because I have a meeting to show my client this morning and I thought it better to have the layout right. The plugin is still installed.

    I’d recommend re-activating the plugin after your meeting to test it. After activating, please clear the site cache (if there is one) and browser cache. I think you were seeing a cached page the 2nd time, making it revert back to an older version.

    Let me know how you get on with that. And also good luck with the client meeting this morning!

    I have reactivated, cleared browser and site cache and the layout is still off. https://snipboard.io/IN5L87.jpg

    Hi @helenbutt, apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

    It is difficult to see what might be causing the issue whilst the plugin is not active. Would you be able to activate the plugin so I can take a look at the message on the page?
