[Plugin: Advanced Excerpt] Tags are not being stripped from excerpt

Anybody know what needs to be changed in the plugin to make sure all HTML is stripped out correctly? I have unchecked all tags but BR tags still manage to get through.

I realize the plug-in isn’t updated for WP 3+ but it’s the best excerpt plug-in I have found, except for this one issue, of course… was hoping for a quick fix.
