[Plugin: Advanced Excerpt] "Read more" link for every excerpt text

  • Hi,

    since version 4 of advanced-excerpt the “Read more” link and the ellipsis are added to all excerpts, no matter if the text is shorter than the entered excerpt length. The link and ellipsis are not needed for short text, if there is nothing else to read. Please fix this behavior. In version 3.1 everything was fine.

  • I’m having the same issue. Most recent version of WP and most recent version of Adv Excerpt.

    No matter how long the text is, I still get the read more link, and the ellipses.

    Is there a workaround?

    This feature has actually been requested by some people, but it’s implementation was not intentional. If I can think of a way to make everyone happy I will do that, but right now there is no proper workaround.

    Plugin version 3.1 still has the old way of adding the link, so that could be a solution. I will let you know about any progress.

    Sorry, but this makes no sense to me. why adding a read more link, when there is nothing to read additionally?

    Please think about to implement an option for this “feature”.

    Yeah, me neither. Like I said, unintentional.
