[Plugin: Advanced Excerpt] New features: working outside the loop & choice where to append more

Great plugin, thanks a lot for making and maintaining it!
I was wondering if the following new featured could be suggested:
1. Make the_advanced_excerpt() work outside the loop.
2. Have a setting to choose where to attach the more link… inside the actual excerpt snippet or outside.Obviously, making the_advanced_excerpt() to work outside the loop would very very handy to have.
