[Plugin: Advanced Excerpt] Cannot control excerpt length

  • I’ve only had success putting my word count below 45 words. If I have the word count above 45 words, my ‘Read more’ text doesn’t appear. I’m assuming there’s a conflict with the default 55 words set by WordPress.

    Try putting this in your functions

    remove_all_filters('the_excerpt');
