tried a few of these editors and this one is hte best so far but it has one lacking feature, well, none of hte other editors has it either ??

I can’t search using the CTRL+F browser shortcut!

can you enable the default browser search to be able to search within your editor field?

Alternatively please implement a shortcut for the search built into your plugin! It would make life a lot easier…

re-opened this thread since CTRL+F works but the enter key doesn’t. I have to click search…

could you please, please fix this too?

Just realized that pop-up is treated like a page? https://screencast.com/t/yoKXqvlrm3

its showing an admin hint I am showing to members in my dashboard ??

no worries though since I am the only one with editing capabilities… just wanted to point this out!

@ovidiu: The pop-up id not a page but a div, and the save popup is submitting the form by ajax and then reads the response in the Div with message id so if you add your own messages, they will show up, as for the enter key, not sure when i’ll get the time to look at it, but i will.

    @ovidiu: Once again wish granted!

the Enter Key is now a trigger for the search function.
please update the plugin and enjoy!

Houston, we’ve got a problem here!

I open up the editor, press CTRL+F type in my search, press ENTER and what happens is that the first instance of the word I was searching for gets deleted and my cursor jumps there.

it looks as if the ENTER key, triggers this, as if the text I searched for was marked already, automatically.

    tested on two wordpress installs…

Sorry i Can’t reproduce this problem, i can only assume that when you press enter the focus was not on the search input box, simple way around it is to use the search button.

I do understand your skepticism ??

    here is what I do:

    1. go to: wp-admin/theme-editor.php looks like: https://screencast.com/t/byL8b4SCb
    2. press CTRL+F
    3. type in “Name” see: https://screencast.com/t/Rw2yGDPy
    4. press ENTER the result is: https://screencast.com/t/8ZXfnNKbCr

that was using Chrome v. 13

    tried with IE9 same result.
using the SEARCH button works as opposed to pressing ENTER.

well, I can live with this… just thought it was a general bug, might be related to my system…

    No skepticism at all.
and i just found what you meant, apparently the search text box losses focus on chrome and IE so the enter actually is also applied to the editor after the search.

    all fine in Firefox land.

I don’t know whats happening here, I get your notification emails, click the link, come here and your reply is missing…
its almost as if you are being moderated.
So for those confused, I’m going to quote your reply below ??

the point is that Chrome is my primary browser, so I tested in a second one: could have chosen IE9 or FF6 beta and decided to test IE9 ??

coincidence. had I tested FF6 beta I might have noticed that it is working in FF.
so if you can fix this cool, otherwise I’ll have to live with it. at least I know its not just me being a pain in the a** but its a browser related issue.

    cheers
