• I’m using the Thematic theme, which is coded properly, so this is not a wp_footer issue as mentioned in other posts on the failure of the drop-down menu to work properly. In addition to the menu sending you offsite when you click on it, the custom site icons load before the menu, not inside it.

I am using W3 Total Cache, so I was wondering if caching is the problem. I downloaded the cache script for Add-to-Any, but I’m mystified as to where and how it is to be installed. The instructions assume the user is a UNIX guru and provide no step-by-step installation.

Any ideas about how to fix this? Anyone else who has had this problem? (I don’t have Add-to-Any loaded on my blog right now because it doesn’t work.)

  • Hi Edelen,

It’s probably not a theme issue (works on Thematic version 0.9.6.2), though it might be an issue with W3 Total Cache. If you temporarily deactivate W3 Total Cache does the AddToAny menu appear?

Turns out that CSprites for WordPress was the offending plugin, though I don’t know how to get around this, as using sprite graphics enables my site to load much faster.

Any ideas? That’s a popular plugin, so I can’t be the only one who has run into this.

Ah, well that makes more sense. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the CSprites plugin is very configurable, or good to use with any 3rd party widgets. Also it appears that it hasn’t been updated in over a year. Maybe someone could suggest an alternative?

As for caching AddToAny with W3 Total Cache, I’d have to advise against that anyway. You’re going to miss important automatic updates unless you’re updating your cache every 24 hours (which AddToAny requires). The good news is that this exact feature (cache w/ auto-updates) is coming as an option to the AddToAny plugin soon. ??

    micropat,

While I certainly appreciate your support, I’ve chosen AddThis, as it has no problems with my current configuration.
