• Hi,

I’ve just added AddThis to my blog and my stats are not showing up on the dashboard. Instead I’m getting the following message: “Error connecting to AddThis.” I’ve triple-checked my settings/password. If I login to addthis.com, I can see that data is being collected from my blog. Please help. Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug in the plug-in?

  • Sandra,

Can you post a link to your site? We can try confirming the same problem. Also, in version 1.6.8 the error screen actually posts an explanatory message in addition to the generic error.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for the tip on the upgrade. The message now reads “Error connecting to AddThis: authentication failed.”

    My site url is https://www.cheerleadinguniformsblog.com/

    Sandra,

Have you tried resetting your password on the AddThis site, and then re-entering it on your blog? It’s possible that it’s just a simple mismatch.

    Hi Matt,

That did the trick. I don’t think its a mismatch, as I rechecked and rechecked the password more time than I care to recount. I think the problem was that I was using a strong password with caps,non-caps, numbers and other characters. The new password only has lower case and numbers.

Thank you for your help, Sandra
