• In the FAQ, it reads: “Error 77: Problem with reading the SSL CA cert: the certificate files on the hosting server are not accessible or missing”.

I am not sure what this means honestly.

I have also used Wordbooker and Facebook Page Publish plugins and have not had difficulty authorizing those plugins for posting to Facebook. What is different about this plugin than those two in terms of authorization? I’m not sure if the developer can answer this question, but perhaps other users can. That would help me identify why I am having problems.

    Cheers.

  • I don’t know how the Wordbooker plugin works, maybe it uses another, client side?, Facebook API. In any case the Facebook Graph API, which is used by Add Link to facebook, requires a secure connection, which is obviously for you own security. So, I think you should really ask your hosting provider to solve this issue. Simply said the server setup is wrong/incomplete.

Thank you. I will investigate the SSL cert

Sorry the dumb question Marce, but does that mean that everyone who uses the plugin has to buy a SSL Certification for his Domain?

No, that is not what it means. It means that the hosting server does not know the certificate (chain) of Facebook, which probably means that the (root) certificates the hosting server knows need to be refreshed.

Facebook has bought the certificate, but the hosting server is not able to check it, because the information to check it, is missing or outdated.

OK – thanks for clarificaton, I was a bit confused about that ??
