    Hello,
I have a site hosted on Pressable.com a WP managed hosting company. They have some restrictions on functions and they use Nginx. There is no htaccess file but I see that is common with Nginx users. The plugin says you support Nginx so is there a workaround?
    Thanks.

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

ERROR 9042: .htaccess file not writable.
Please add/replace the following codes into the beginning of /wordpress/core/4.9.8/.htaccess:`

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,

I’m Mike and I work for Pressable. We do not allow any type of caching plugins such as LiteSpeed Cache. This is due to the fact that we already have server side caching and CDN in place for free on all our Pressable sites in Production mode.

Feel free to reach out to us in Support via the helpdesk or live chat for any other of your questions concerning this or anything else. Thanks so much!

    Hi,

Yes, the general optimization work on all webserver.

but for certain feature , like caching , it requires LiteSpeed webserver.

On the other hand , some feature also requires htaccess support , in most of case , you can have nginx-equivalent-directives , and it needs to be inserted into nginx configuration file, but this will require server admin access.

but in either case, there are still some features like image optimization are not relied on htaccess nor LSWS.

for your issue, this looks like permission issue, could you please try manually create .htaccess file and see how it goes?

    Best regards,
