I get a fatal error whenever I try activating Editor Plus v2.2.0. The error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’, expecting ‘;’ or ‘{‘ in editorplus/Extensions/register_blocks/index.php on line 14

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi @tompkinsjournal

That shouldn’t happen, I’ve just tested it again. Activated perfectly fine.

Could you please confirm if you are trying it on a localhost or a live server?

Also, please try to deactivate all other plugins to make sure this is not due to another plugin.

    Let me know.

I am testing on a live server. I’ve tried disabling all plugins and switching to the default theme. Still won’t activate. I’ve also tried deleting the plugin and re-installing a fresh copy. No luck.

Fixed: I needed to install the Gutenberg plugin to activate Editor Plus. Apparently it is now compatible with the core Gutenberg.

    Hi @tompkinsjournal

Thanks for the update. This is still odd though. ??

The plugin normally works perfectly without the Gutenberg Plugin. Anyway, I will keep an eye on this.

Glad it is resolved for you.

I had exactly the same problem. It was caused by very old version of PHP (5.4). After changing to 7.4 problem is gone.
