Pluggable / better hooked post meta?

I love this theme. I would like to be able to add a custom taxonomy list to the post meta, but the writr_meta() function doesn’t include any hooks and isn’t pluggable. In a future version, can you either wrap it in function_exists() or add some hooks in between each section?
