Plug periodically slows down

  • After updating, when working with a long numbered list, it hangs every approximately 5 seconds for 2 seconds. I tried to disable other plugins – it does not help. The reason is exactly in TinyMCE. Reinstalling the plugin did not help either.

    nevertheless, I found out that braking depends on the number of inserted characters of the text.

    Sounds like some js function somewhere is going through the whole post content and is doing something… “funky”. There were no changes to the TinyMCE editor in WP 5.4, so don’t think it is a regression.

    If that happens whit all plugins disabled and in the classic block in the block editor, please open a trac ticket for core or a Github issue for Gutenberg. If not, maybe try to clear the caches. In some cases that might help.
