• I am new to WP and hve relied entirely on Frontpage 2000 (UH-OH…ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE!)

Is there a plug-in Database “Wizard” that will create (I guess .php) pages where I can display and update values in a database that is comprised of many tables and queries (I only know Access 2000)

I undertand that on my test site, which resides on a Linux server,I have to forget about the way Access works in favor of mysql. From what I have been told, queries and formulas within are not built within a mysql database itsefl, but rather as part of a .php page. (Am I warm?)

Please advise as to what possible pug-in program within WP can do something similar to what the Frontpage database wizard does?

    Thanks,

    Ron

YOu know… You have nine separate posts about this.

Only I hesitate to actually say ‘separate’ since the main crux of it is all the same and … you know. Here’s the funny thing. Frontpage isn’t a big deal to us ?? Really we don’t care. I mean, it’s good to know where you’re coming from, but don’t make a fuss.

We can’t give you any advice on how to reproduce what this ‘wizard’ does for two reasons.

    1) We have no idea what’s in your database, nor what your desired output should be.
    2) I highly suspect the familiarity with access/frontpage here is pretty low. I know I sure haven’t touched it since the late 90s.

You’re probably going to need to hire someone to do a custom conversion.

Okay. I’ll stop referring to FP and Access. How about answwering this:

I want to create a test database in msql (without downloading anything to my own compuiter, which my hosting company says is not necessary).

I want to create two tables.

    Table one has two fields (Client Name] and [Client Code}
Table 2 has two fields; [number of sales] and [avg. price]

My one and only record, where the client name is Harry and his client code is 0000) has made 3 sales, where the avg. price is $10,000.

I want to have a page that both displays and updates the amount of sales for harry.

Is there a plug-in that will help me do this without having to know how to write code within WP?

Maybe you can take a look at the following sample page I have edited and separated from my existing website, specifically to get my question answered:(I have also included this link in a newer post this morning)

    https://www.astonwhitehall.com/client/plansquote.asp

Maybe it is the simplest way to ask and get the solution.

    I hope you have it.

    Thanks,
