• Just loaded your WooCommerce Product Feed plug in on our website and while it is bringing product over to Facebook, none of the titles are correct (it is putting variation names into the titles) and the main images aren’t showing on some listings (variable photos are showing.) This is pretty basic info so why isn’t it working correctly?

    Issue 1:

“Product Title” attribute is for main product’s title, for this when the product type is variation it brings it’s own title, If you want parent product title for the variation product please select “Parent Title” attribute.

    See the link below,
    product title to parent title

    Issue 2

“Main Image” attribute is for the product’s own image. That’s why the variation product image is coming in the feed for variation products. If you want parent product image for the variation product, please select the “Feature Image” attribute.

    See the link below,
    main image to feature image

    Hi Nazrul –

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I’ve looked at what you suggested above, and changed the image portion to “Featured” image, so we will see if that works.

For the title, I already had “product Title” selected, so I don’t understand your directions? If I have “Product Title” already selected then shouldn’t it be pulling over the main title, and not a variation title?

I still question how this works.

If I am selling a pair of Diamond Earrings, and within that listing I have variation choices of “Pair A”, “Pair B”, etc., the title on my website would only have “Diamond Earrings” so why would your plug in “add” the variation choice to the title (i.e., Diamond Earrings – Pair A?) I’ve never seen an ecommerce website do that, so why would a plug in do this?

For the images – same thing…If I am selling four bowls, in four different colors, the title on my website would be: “Colored Bowls” and there would be a main image of the 4 bowls together. Why would your plug in add “Red Bowl” to the title, when it is only a variation choice? Your plug in would then also choose to show one of the variation images instead of the main image.

I’m not a programmer, but this seems pretty basic to me. The plug in should be pulling over main title and main images. If we want something other than that, then that could be a choice. We shouldn’t have to go thru all these steps to have basic functionality.

E-commerce websites do not show “separate” listings, when products have variations within them. There is always one listing with drop down choices inside the listing, for the variation choices. If I have listings with variations, I don’t want those variations to show as “separate” listings on Facebook, after the sync.

I will let you know if the featured image fix worked or not.

    Thanks.

    Hi again –

Implemented your suggestions above and they didn’t change a thing. Variation images still show as main images and Main titles don’t show (only variation titles show.)

This really should be “basic” programming for a plug in to bring over the main image and main title of an item that is for sale.

Any other ideas or does this plug in just not work?

    Title:
Product Title will add variation info into the title like Product Title – Color – Size
Parent Title will not add variation info, so the title will be only Product Title.

Sorry – I thought no one had replied to me. I didn’t see this response from last week.

I just changed to Parent Title, and Featured image is what I had chosen already.

I generated a new feed, so let’s see if it works.

Just made changes, per your suggestions and it didn’t work. Main images are still not showing and variations are showing in the title, rather than just the main title.

Again, it shouldn’t take this much work, to get BASIC info to show.

It’s been 12 hours since I updated the feed and I checked Facebook again.

It seems like the titles are working correctly now, on Facebook, and only show the main title.

We have about 16-17 Mini Grid listings that are still showing the variation images, instead of the main image, even though I made the changes as you suggested.

I have uploaded two screen shots from Facebook, to the same folder as yesterday, so you can see what I mean.

Hopefully, your problem has been solved. I’ll mark this as resolved. In-future if you face any issue again “open a new topic”. We will solve your problem anytime.

Why would you mark this as “solved” since it obviously isn’t?

Your support for this plug in sucks. I’ll go rate it appropriately.
