• Hello,
I am running XAMPP 1.8.3-4 on a Mac OS X Version 10.7.5 with Firefix 30.0 browser. Xampp has sendmail installed. WordPress is being served off of Xampp. As far as I know everything is updated.

What I want to do: I want to test sending an email using the Jetpack Contact form to an email address I’ve created using my Xampp-hosted WordPress Account.

    What I’ve done:

    1. I changed the php.ini and the sendmail.ini per the instructions here
    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/15965376/how-to-configure-xampp-to-send-mail-from-localhost
Only, I kept my port open to 25. Also, my Gmail PW contains a non-alphanumeric element, not sure if that matters when entering information on the sendmail.ini.
    2. My wordpress account on the sever is linked to my email address I’ve created.
    3. I have not changed anything on my firewill because I am able to access the PHP administrative console for XAMPP and when I’ve filled out the Jetpack Contact form and hit send, WordPress displays “Message Sent”.

    What I haven’t done
: Messed around with my router settings, contacted my ISP.

What I don’t want to do: I do not want to use Xampp as a way to access GMAIL.

    What I need help with:
A diagnosis of the problem and/or some suggestions to try-out.
