When I updated WP to version 4.0 this plugin broke for me. I deleted it entirely and re-installed a fresh version as it claims it’s 4.0 compatible. After a fresh install it’s still having issues.

Upon activating the plugin it reports:
Notice: mydatabase::prepare was called incorrectly. The query argument of mydatabase::prepare() must have a placeholder.

When visiting the site it reports:

Notice: Undefined index: subscriptions_page in /home/asdf/html/wp-content/plugins/membership/membershipincludes/classes/membershippublic.php on line 2142

Notice: Undefined index: registrationcompleted_page in /home/asdf/html/wp-content/plugins/membership/membershipincludes/classes/membershippublic.php on line 2241'

And then when returning to the Dashboard it shows this about 20 times:
Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/asdf/_html/wp-content/plugins/membership/membershipincludes/classes/membershipadmin.php on line 5133

Is it the plugin? Or is it my site? I would never upgrade to the pro version with so many errors…

  • This plugin has also been broken for me too. The “Associated Role” feature is not work at all since 4.0 update. Can the developers comment on whether they are aware of this? Or, if/when they plan to have a resolution?

    Hi @malfy,

Thanks for your patience here and sorry if you had trouble using the plugin. That does seem like a server concern as I’m not able to replicate that.

Could you let us know more about your server? Is it Linux-based? Running NGINX?

    Any further details will help.

@boziboy, since this is actually different from a user role specific concern, could I ask for you to create a new post on that? We’d love to help, we’d just need a distinct thread to dig into the details.

    Thanks, David
