• Hi- every time I try and open the plug in to create or even duplicate and edit a story the plug in keeps crashing and a comment populates that says something went wrong and to try reloading the page and report the problem. I’ve tried numerous times and it’s still not working. A lot of the features to create or edit a story are missing here as well. Can you please look into this? Thanks!

To add, I also tried troubleshooting in the health check plugin but I cannot figure it out.

Hi there @chefelizabethreese , sorry to hear you are facing issues with the plugin. To help us reproduce the issue, could you please share a screen recording of your experience using a service such as Loom or Recordit then share the URL here?

Please also check for any browser console errors in the browser dev tools.

@luckynasan Hi- any updates? I still cannot access my web stories.

    Thank you for the video!

    • Does the editor crash when you are creating a brand new story?
    1. Enable the Web Stories plugin and let me know if the issue is present.
    2. Enable plugins and your theme one by one in this mode to help pinpoint if something else is involved.

    * Note you can disable troubleshooting mode from the plugins page.

@luckynasan Hi I just submitted my site health information. I tried enabling troubleshooting mode and enabling the web stories plug in and I was able to create a story. However, I get a little confused when trying to enable the plug ins one by one and how to do so with the theme.

@luckynasan Hello- any updates?? I would like to try and get this resolved ASAP as it’s been about 3-4 days now.

@chefelizabethreese Thank you for the update above. If you were able to create a story while Web Stories was the only plugin active, that means there is another conflicting plugin or theme causing the editor to crash.

While you are in troubleshooting mode, expand the Available Plugins field and you will see the list of plugins currently disabled. You’ll want to enable those plugins one by one until the Stories editor crashes on you. That way it will help pinpoint which is the culprit.

@luckynasan I am still having the same issue with the plug in. I have tried multiple times to do enable each plug in with the web stories plug in and my theme and I’ve also tried in groups and I am not receiving the error message. The only time I ma receiving the error message is when all of my plug ins are enabled with the web stories plug in at once time. Can you help with this?

@luckynasan Hi- can you provide more assistance here? The plug in is still not working.

@luckynasan Any updates on this? I still cannot access the plug in which is frustrating. Can someone help asap?

@chefelizabethreese Apologies for the delayed response. I’ve been testing on my end to try and haven’t been able to reproduce it. In order to help you resolve this issue we’d need a bit more information.?

First, can you try using a different theme (e.g. Twenty Twenty Three) to see if we can rule out your theme as a conflict? Please ensure you retest in an incognito/private browser window.

Secondly, could you check for any browser console errors in the browser dev tools and send us a screenshot, using a screenshot-sharing service such as Jumpshare or Imgur?

    (@chefelizabethreese)

@luckynasan no, that’s the issue.. it is not my theme. The plug in works fine while in troubleshooting mode using my theme. I have tried activating and testing every single plug in in one by one with my current theme and I don not have an issue the web stories plug in works fine that way.

Also, how would I check the browser console for errors on Safari? I don’t use Chrome.

To check for console errors in Safari, click Develop in the Safari menu bar and click Show Web Inspector.

Could you please also share the whole error message with us?

If the Web Stories plugin works in troubleshooting mode, that indicates a conflict with another plugin or your server configuration. Console errors could give us some clues, however, the easiest way to pinpoint the issue is for you to disable all other plugins, and enable them back one at a time.

Hi Here is the screenshot link of console errors in Safari, can you help?.As stated before, I’ve already tried disabling and enabling the plug ins one at a time and that does not work. https://vimeo.com/870921024?share=copy
