This has been a great plugin and I have it installed on a couple of sites. This is not a support request – but a request to the plugin developer: if you know an update is going to introduce breaking changes (e.g., changes the HTML structure, IDs or class names) PLEASE ADD A WARNING TO THE PLUGIN UPDATE NOTIFICATION. Example: this “There is a new version of GTranslate available. This includes breaking changes. Please backup before updating.”

Version 3.0.2 changed the HTML structure and borked the layout on a site I updated earlier today. Pretty straightforward to fix it, but a PITA nonetheless. If it’s necessary to change the HTML structure, a heads-up would be nice.

Thanks. I’ll make a note to check the changelog on your plugin before updating it in the future. Just my opinion, but I suspect you’d have fewer rants & complaints in the support forum if you gave a heads-up on the plugin update screen.

You are welcome! Actually it is there. Every time you try to update a plugin WordPress offers to check the update details: “View version NNN details”.

The version number itself should hint you that there are major changes. Check more about semantic versioning: https://semver.org/

    Thanks! ??
