@dev1da Are you using a custom theme?

Can you please try clearing any cache, open an incognito browser, perform a hard refresh (CMD + Shift + R), temporarily disable all other plugins except Web Stories, switch to a default theme, and tell us if the issue persists?

When you go to Tools -> Site Health, does it say the REST API is available?

Can you please share your site URL and a story URL so we can check?

@luckynasan Yes we are using a custom theme.

I tried troubleshooting with only Web Stories plugin and Twenty Twenty theme active, and the “please wait” message still shows.

    The Rest API is available.

Link to website. We do not have any stories published, the plugin stopped working before we could create any.

@dev1da Thank you for your patience as we worked through this. We were able to replicate this issue on a site with an older version of PHP (version 7.1.14). It appears you are using PHP version 7.0.21, which is past the end of life. We suggest contacting your hosting provider for assistance with upgrading your PHP version.
