    Hi there.

I must be missing something, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to customise ‘Related Posts’. I have done it before, and ‘Related Posts’ are working right now, it’s just that recently the title above them has changed to default ‘Related’ for no apparent reason after I had managed to write a custom heading a while ago.

    All I get now is:

“Please visit a single post view to reveal the customisation options.”

Things is, I am looking at a single post view. So, what am I missing? The coffee I’m drinking right now is not helping my nerves…tastes like…um…Jet fuel.

I am using Divi, if that’s useful info.

    Hi Sean,

Things is, I am looking at a single post view.

Just to be clear, in the Customizer preview panel you navigated to your posts page, and then clicked on the title of a post to get to the single-post page? If you’ve done that, you should see the Related Posts options under that tab on the left.

Or are you perhaps looking at a page where the content of a single post has been inserted by Divi? The Customizer would see that view as a page, not a single-post view.

Please check if switching to Twenty-Nineteen makes any difference, to rule out or confirm the theme as the problem. Also try disabling all other plugins except Jetpack to see if that helps. If it does, re-enable the plugins one at a time until the problem reappears to narrow down which one is causing this.

You can use the troubleshooting mode in the Health Check plugin to switch themes and disable plugins without affecting your site as visitors see it.

To be honest, this is not a pressing issue, but maybe more of a mild annoyance which I can live with. My host offers a very easy to use staging environment, so I might use that to troubleshoot.

Also to be more clear, I have previously modified the heading with Divi. The only thing I can think of is a subsequent update somewhere has changed something, and my custom heading changed itself back to the default ‘Related’. It was ‘In other news…’

Please visit a single post view to reveal the customisation options.

This isn’t something from Jetpack, so perhaps it was controlled by Divi and a change was recently made in there?

Thats what I’m thinking, as they update Divi almost every week. But because it’s such a minor issue as far as I’m concerned, I have decided to turn the heading off from within Jetpack, for now. That much I can still do. When I get round to it, I’ll probably contact Elegant.

I apologize, I was wrong earlier, that notice is part of Jetpack.

Testing in Twenty Nineteen now, I only see that notice if I’m Customizing on anything but single posts, like on the main blog page. If I then click into a single post, the options appear.

So, this may still be a Divi problem. Does it work for you if you temporarily switch to the Twenty Nineteen theme?

You can also do this to force the change: https://jetpack.com/support/related-posts/customize-related-posts/#headline
