I use wordfence and it scans wordpress for changed files and when it gets to your plugin when you make changes and do not create a new tag for this version according to the “WordPress guidelines on version control“. it flags it as changed and sends an email to me then I have to uninstall and get the plugin again.
If the tag was there and new version it would trip the wordpress update and then all I have to do is click one button to update

Thank you for a wonderful plugin

Got it, most of the time, I just update the README because WP README is a PITA to parse ever since they change to the new plugin directory.

So this time round, it is really a README change, so it doesn’t warrant a retag.

OK thanks wordfence has said readmes and txt files will be excluded next version unless we have it on a higher type of check setting
    Thank You
