• I get an error trying to install and activate the plugin Event Organiser
“There has been an error with Event Organiser. One or more tables are missing:
    website_eo_event
    website_eo_venuemeta

    Please try re-installing the plugin.”

I tried removing, deleting, installing & activating again to no avail.

I was using the install button on the plugin details page. I notice the install instructions say to upload the plugin folder and all contents. Does this mean I should have downloaded it separate ectracted the zip contents and then uploaded to site?

That error message indicates that the plug-in was unable to install either of the two tables required for it to function.

I think maybe what the case is that the database user that you are using for WordPress does not have the privileges to CREATE or INDEX tables. You should grant these privileges to that user and then trying re-installing the plug-in.

You can do it via your host’s control panel, typically using phpmyadmin.

I looked at folders with FTP and saw there was nothing in the event-organiser folder. I downloaded the zip file, extracted and copied to site. That seemed to work then. I can see those tables in the database.
I was then trying to create a few events and make “events coming” and other views with not much luck. I might look for another plugin.
