  • Personally, I like the ‘original’ design better. But it looks like a great site, either way. ??

I like the font on the first one…
They both look nice though i prefer the first!

O.K. I changed up some fonts and colors, any better Lilandra?

Cena, I’m really interested in knowing what makes you prefer the first one?
    Thanks for the feedback folks.

In Firefox the rendering of the footer is all over the place. A real mess.

Further to my last post as far as I can see the footer info is not in a div of any sort. Hence it does not clear the menu. But the fonts look very nice.

I’ve just spend about 5 minutes clicking back and forth between the two, and now I realize it’s hard to say why I like the first one better.
Let’s see. The first one: looks ‘cleaner’ and less cluttered, possibly because the 2nd one’s content area is narrower. I like the nav bar on the first one. I like the tan/green text sidebar on the first; the green on green in the 2nd is hard to read without hovering over the elements.
Mostly I think it looks more professional, somehow; but again, in some frustratingly unarticulable (for me) way. ??

wrapped a div around the (p class=credit), gonna have to look into that a little, what do you mean “In Firefox the rendering of the footer is all over the place
The biggest reason I prefer the organicgardensite.com over the /BAKOLDindex.php is that there seems to be too little screen Real Estate to work with and the forum ends up being REALLY reduced.
    Kevin

Huh. For some reason BAKOLD ‘seems’ bigger. But yes, I like the sidebar change. ??
I think what Anon may be referring to is the fact that your sidebar (at least when you access the forums) overlaps your footer, ‘covering’ the text there.
    In Firefox, anyway.

    sidebar overlaps your footer
That’s because I’m using the basic layout structure that comes with WP and the menu div is “positioned absolutely” which means if the content is shorter than the menu that overlap is going to happen. My pre-made template had the menu “contained” inside the #rap so it pushes the container down when the #content is short. (Lots of ways to skin that cat)
Well anyway thanks for all the input, I got home and my wife (who I am making this site for) prefers the stronger colors LOL!
