  • I am working on my blog, it is at https://www.slantstreet.com
    I am just getting started with it.

    Is it better to have links that leave your site… to go direct, or beter to use the _top or _blank tags so that a new browser window pops up?

    Also, if anyone has a related blog that they want to blogroll with me that would be great and I would be happy to exchange links with you.

    PS. I forgot to mention that I am having trouble with the XHTML valadation. At first I had one error, which I tried to fix and that turned into two. So I am still trying to make it compliant but not exactly sure what the problem is yet.

    You have two open <span> tags with no closing tags on the more link in your post from 01/13. First, you should remove one of the spans, because they are exactly the same and you only need one. Then put a </span> after the closing anchor tag and before the closing paragraph tag.

    Should look like this:

    I have always advocated the “_blank” tags, as that allows them to view the new site, and when they close it and see yours, reminds them of what they were just doing.

    Thanks bobafred! I have it down to one error now, I will keep messing with it.

    Thanks Draconic. Good point. I think offsite links I will make use the “_blank” tag.
