  • Ok, Ok, Ok.

I compiled together a “short” tutorial on how I have it set up now. ( https://www.happypoet.com/?p=119 ) I warn you again. I am not a php programmer. I dont know what I am doing.

    Good Luck

I like the theme of your site, magagnon. Would really love to use it for one of my sites ??

Nice integration! Now if you can just have the cookie from phpBB used to authenticate in WordPress like the Nucleus CMS plugin does, that would be wicked! The plugin has users authenticate against phpBB and create them in Nucleus if they don’t exist.

Trent about the login. I almost have it ready. I have it inputting a new user if it doesnt find the username in the database, just need to force it to log in the user into WordPress. I decided PHPBB’s login system was better than wordpress. I just direct the user to the login page of phpbb and do the rest off of it.

magagnon, am very much interested in your wp comments to phpbb topic integration. very impressive indeed. could you post the instruc here? or if it’s gonna be a plugin then when will it be ready?
as to the idea of wp+phpbb, anyone know a reliable way to integrate the login tables? how about displaying wp just below the phpbb categories box? (for taht i believe about 2 to 5 posts or the page’ll be too long…)

just webnt through the integration for this plugin but it keep saying that it cant loginto the database … hmmm i know the data base nae is correct as i coppied it from the config file for the phpbb and verified it in phpmyadmin .. anyone else have this issue ?

    Hello magagnon,

I would be very interesting in getting the code to integrate phpbb into wordpress. I was looking for month for a solution.

magagnon, is the plugin or whatever it is done yet? i really want to use it.

I thought I stumbled across a plugin to do that lately. Don’t remember where and didn’t try so I couldn’t say if that works. while I personally like a comment system better than forums I can see the use for it. Also I can see you surely did a nice job!.

As for authentication: how about doing that against a (active or open) directory? I’m sure I found a plugin for that too.

Original idea and nice theme too.

the code is nice, but I think you have too many colors. A simpler color scheme with only two or three colors would be better

Does this integrate the database as well or is there two registrations a user must complete? I’m interested ebcause I do extensive work with phpBB and was lookign on doing a plugin like this as well ??

Now this is flucking sweet lol! =) Just however, the problem with phpBB is they always keep releasing updates and updates and more updates though sigh.. =(

And to further that, are they not going to release phpBB3 sooner or later? Briefly reading the directions for that “plugin”, you might run into more problems with the plugin if I’m correct right, being that the phpBB3 will have subforums and what not?

Just was curious, but yet would love to do this, and even if they release phpBB3 then, it would still be awesome to have this “plugin” working with that version as well then.. =) Good job on the implimenting of the two, and keep up the good work.. =)

    Very cool,
I am trying to do something simulair
    at https://vistronic.com
just started on front wordpress page the phpbb is knowledge base use to be front page.
I am very interested in code plugins ideas and so of what you are doing! So yes some people are interested.

phpBB releases plenty of updates but the last core modifying update was 2.0.18 which broke alot of things because of the session change, alas olympus i dont see coming out anytime soon lol. This plugin would be sweet if there were a viable release that didnt confuse some people. There’s tons of buzz on it too.
