Please Review My Site

  • I recently installed WordPress so that I could have a blog and a forum. I am using a Twenty-Twelve Child theme. This is my first WordPress site.

    If anyone has information about barking dogs that they would like to share, this would be a great way to test my forum.

    I am curious about speed and security, but any design tips would be great also.

    I would appreciate any feedback.

  • Hello jackolive. Congrats on getting your first site up and running! It looks very clean and is easy to navigate.

    I used to live next door to a large dog that only barked from midnight to 6am. It was glorious. We had to move. So where was your site when I needed it back then!?

    Speed and security… where is your site hosted? Speed seems fine to me. Loads great and you’re not image heavy. So no issues there.

    Curious why you went with one of the older WP themes? The newer ones are spectacular and have a little more to offer. You know, latest and greatest and all that.

    I am hosted with GoDaddy.

    This is my first site so I wanted to go with a theme that is highly customizable, yet functional.

    What theme do you recommend for a site of my type?

    I think it looks good. Very newsy and informational. It’s just not as “modern” as some of the newer themes. Maybe you can try out some different themes and see what tickles your fancy.
