    Hi –

Can you please add back the ability to sort/prioritize the order in which redirects are applied? It’s crucial when using RegEx redirects and need to cascade redirects (such as during a redesign where lots of legacy links need to be handled with various specificity).

    Thank you so much

Agreed, this is a huge miss in the new version.

With or without drag/drop this feature is a must-have for sites with larger redirect sets.

Totally agree. We have been using version 2.3.2 because of this, and now reordering is broken even in that version. Please resolve soon!

Bump. John, is this likely to be resolved?

Bump. Has anyone developed a work around for this problem?

I don’t have a work around built either.

Please let me know if you come up with something.

It is good to see this great plugin is still being developed, but no update on the much-needed sort feature?

I don’t think there is a workaround – the new admin layout uses the native WP code (which is good) but needs drag/drop ajax added on top.

    Pretty-please-bump?!

It’s killing me every time I see a plugin update and no mention of bringing back this crucial feature…

This is the reason I have not updated from 2.3.6 as well. I am using some regex code that will break my redirects if not placed at the end.

Laser, are sorts still working in 2.3.6? They have broken in 2.3.2
We have the same issue you do. All our redirects fall back to a default when all the previous regex rules are not met. If the default is not at the end, redirection just doesn’t work.

Yes, it is a bit quirky and 404s don’t work but if you save and check eventually they will reorder.

Thanks for letting us know ??

2.3.6 is the last version where sorting actually works. Just remember to refresh the page after applying a sort (before adding more redirects) and it’s fine.

Guess the plugin author doesn’t read these old threads?

Does anyone know how to get hold of John and ask about this issue?

We developed a workaround for this issue, may not work for everyone though. We only need 1 redirect as a catchall if none of the others are matched. It didn’t matter to us about the order of the rest.

We installed another plugin that allowed us to directly edit the database content. Then we went in & set the id for the final redirect to 9999. Seems to have resolved the issue for us, as new redirects get created with a lower id than 9999. Might help you, Laser.

Sorry Sith, can’t help you though ??

Heh yeah, I’ve been using a script to reorder the entries in the db, but it’s not really feasible, especially since the plugin had that nice drag & drop interface before. I really don’t understand how this feature isn’t marked as critical.
