    Hi

Can you please remove the forced redirect after updating the plugin? When updating the plugin and then clicking on another admin page link, the admin dashboard crashes with ‘ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS’ because it is being forced to redirect to the plugin’s admin homepage instead of the link that has been clicked.

Clearing the opcache resolves the issue but it shouldn’t be necessary – the forced redirect is not something you should be adding to the update process. When I click on a link in my admin area, I expect to go to the page I clicked on, not to have that link hijacked by a plugin.

I think your plugin’s great and I’m moving 20+ websites from Yoast but I would be much happier if you removed this questionable practice of link hijacking after updating. Especially as it doesn’t seem to work properly….

    Many thanks.

    Hello @bullrunner

    Thank you for your message.

There is no redirection in place once the plugin updates.

Can you please share the error/debug log so we can assist you better?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi @rankmath

Thanks for getting back to me and please accept my apologies.

I have tried replicating the issue on multiple sites by rolling back the version of RankMath and updating again. I expected all subsequent attempts to click on admin links to redirect to /wp-admin/admin.php?page=rank-math (as I experienced previously) but this didn’t happen.

I don’t know why my dashboard crashed with all links attempting to redirect to /wp-admin/admin.php?page=rank-math when I updated the plugin last time but it definitely didn’t happen this time.

Again, sorry about my assumption about what I thought was a forced redirect when updating. I can see now that this is not the case.

    Hello @bullrunner

No worries at all. We are really happy that the issue is not coming from the Rank Math plugin and happened only once.

If you need any other assistance, we are here to help. We are just a support topic or email away.

If it isn’t too much to ask for – would you mind leaving us a review here?

It only takes a couple of minutes but helps us tremendously.

It would mean so much to us and would go a really long way.

    Thank you.??
