    Hello,

Most of the people use wp_ table prefix at the time of installation. Recently I came to know that wp_ table prefix can be exploited to hack the website.

Please provide the option to change the table prefix in wordpress settings page so that admins can change the prefix even after wordpress installation.

Hope to see this feature in upcoming update.

    Thank you

That’s not correct. The table prefix is changed just to obfuscate it but it doesn’t prevent anything. The attacker obtained access to your mysql database, possibly by reading your wp-config.php file.

Changing the table prefix can’t prevent that scenario.

If you do want to change the prefix then yes, there are plugins that can assist you. But it’s a major surgery type of thing to do and please make sure your DB and files are fully backed up and safely stored before trying that.

    You’re welcome. ??

If someone gets into your site at a level allowing database access, your table prefix makes no difference.

It’s all over, independent of your table prefix.

Changing prefix to improve security == Myth.
