Please Loose the Readygraph Extension
-
The Plugin worked flawlessly for a few years until the recent addition of the ReadyGraph extension. At best, the extension should be a configurable option and users should be notified when a major change is executed to an existing plugin during routine updates.
We use this plugin to interface with Facebook – not with a third party called ReadyGraph.
We were getting ReadyGraph nags on our admin screen but did not immediately determine which plugin had stuffed it in with an update. When we uploaded a new post, we finally found the culprit. First there were errors expressed as warnings that prevented the post page from returning to admin screen after submission. That told us ReadyGraph was the culprit.
Upon disabling “monetize” checkbox on a ReadyGraph screen, the next “update” returned only an warning on the admin page – not a full block with a PHP error page. Here’s the message:
Warning: reset() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in (…)/wp-content/plugins/add-link-to-facebook/readygraph-extension.php on line 186
More power to former Google employee Prachaya Phaisanwiphatpong who got startup capital from Y-Combinator and some Silicon Valley funders to start a new company. But please let us make our own choice whether we want to hitch our wagons to this new startup, and please, please PLEASE do not roll out start-up apps hidden in plugins that break functionality across several websites.
