    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at mysql9.000webhost.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

    Try again

  • There is a problem either in the credential you put during the installation process DB Name, DB user, DB Password, DB host, or with your host database.

You can check in the wp-config.php if the parameters DB_NAME, DB_HOST, DB_USER, DB_PASS are correctly set.

    Hello,

I am a wordpress newbie so please excuse my amateur inquiry . . .

I did a quick install of WordPress through my Hostgator C-panel.

When I go to log into my wordpress admin page: designerreeels.com/wp-admin
I cannot recall my username or password. I click on “forgot password” and it asks me for an email. I put in the only two email addresses I use and it responds, “There is no user registered with that email address.”

I’ve tried ALL of my password and user name possibilities . . . but with no luck.

What do you suggest I do? Reinstall WP?

    jdbrunet,

If you have access to PHPMyAdmin from cPanel which you likely will, you can change your details that way. I recommend using this guide from WPBeginner.

    Hope this helps, Grant.
