My widget is not showing, just the link to the twitter page. Chrome says the widget is disabled and is highlighting part of the code/function. I don’t know what the issue is, but I have to fix it tomorrow or replace it, could you please tell me if you know what might be the issue?

Thanks, really need help, client is ready to launch!

Can you share the url to the website?
I suspect you run an adblocker or something like Ghostery. Or there is a JavaScript error somewhere.
Could it be you run on HTTPS ?

I wish I could, but the client would not approve. I do have All In One WP Security on the site. I wonder if that is the issue, I did uninstall it and test, but those things usually leave your files edited even after you remove them. I can go in and undo all the settings and see if that is the culprit.

Thank you for your input, it really is appreciate, I just broke my leg yesterday and I really just want this site to go up with very little work if possible lol. Sorry about not using pastebin!

    Best regards,

    M.

Hi, I installed that plugin on my test site, but even the iframe protection doesn’t block it for me.
Did you check your inspector for JavaScript errors?

You’re right, it was not that. I am going to be honest and say I am not that good with js, yet, I am taking a class but I have barely started it. I am not sure which inspector you mean?

Thank you, by the way, for taking the time, I really am very grateful.

Moz inspector says the Widget is disabled and is highlighting the same code as Chrome.

Hey @mymelusine As the first post kinda explains, please do not post massive code blocks in these forums. In addition to it not working, it is unreadable.

Please use pastebin.com instead and share the link to that paste instead.

In Firefox and Chrome you can right-click on the page, and select Inspect Element.
Then select the Console tab, that is where errors pop up. Then refresh the page. Can you pastebin the log? Feel free to clean it up of urls.

Sorry again! Thank you for explaining. I will do that and post it now.

OK so the console is saying the widget is disabled and linking me to the attached code. I’m sharing just the highlighted bit, please let me know if I should have included all of it.

    whoah ??
Can you paste the error from the console? It might give a reason it is disabled.

    This is all it says.

    Widget is disabled. platform.twitter.com/widgets.js:8

Is there something I am missing? I could post a screen print if you think there is…

    Hmm, strange.
When I enter non-existing Twitter ID I get “configuration not found”.

Does it even work with the default settings, with my timeline?
You did make an ID on the Twitter website, right?

    Thread Starter mymelusine

    (@mymelusine)

OK, so I checked her ID by going to mytwitterid.com and found that the id is apparently wrong. I am not sure how that is possible since I am the only one that does the updates and it DID work at one time. But anyway, I put the new number in and now the error is ‘configuration not found’

But when you add a new Twitter Widget, with just the defaults, does it work correctly?
