• Hi, I’ve made some changes to our website over the past week and my wordpress system is just barely holding on to life support. It takes about 30-45 seconds to load a page in the admin and anywhere from 4-10 seconds to load a page from my wordpress site. For example: https://www.extraordinaryjourneys.net/blog/family-safari/

The webpages tend to “hang” for about 4-5 seconds before it starts to load. Once it starts to load, it loads pretty quickly. I also set up a CDN yesterday and that further sped up the loading, *but only after the page stops hanging and starts to load.*

Also, the WP admin system is painfully, gruesomely slow! One of the folks in our office seems ready to quit (mild hyperbole) over the 45 second hang time.

    Quick Notes:
    * Updated WordPress last week (doh! this never goes well)
    * Installed Pop Up Domination, a Contact Form, and vslider gallery. All of these seem legit and are fully updated. Also, when I de-activate these plugins, nothing improves.

    Thanks!

Also, where is your site hosted? Might be a server issue.

Thanks for the advice. I’m hosting on Network Solutions. Not the best, but the site was at least working last week. Changing providers is definitely on my list, but I don’t think it will be a catch-all solution…

There seem to be quite a few problems. I am including the worst 5 things from the YSlow Report (not pretty) and the Page Speed report. Anyone interested in some freelance work to fix these?
