Please help – site crashed

  • Hi everyone,

    I am very new to wordpress and have no coding experience and I’ve only been on this wp site for about ten days. I have been working furiously for those ten days though and I couldn’t be more upset by this. Please remember, I know very little even in terms of some of the jargon that is used. I installed a plugin and then this happened.

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/joeyvl2/popzilla.net/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-facebook/includes/facebook-groups-extension.php on line 107.

    My site is popzilla.net

    Please help asap if possible, I’m stresssssed!

  • You’ll need to access your site via FTP or another file management system your host uses. Go to the plugins folder and delete that plugin. You should then be able to login again.

    Thanks very much for your response. My entire site is hosted on dreamhost. I have nothing on my computer. I’m very new and don’t even know what via ftp means…

    Dreamhost has FTP — it’s easy to set up:

    They have a browser based version – so that would not require you to use anything on your computer.

    You could also just open a support ticket with them – they have good support.

    While we do have a WebFTP app, I strongly suggest you grab Filezilla, or Cyberduck, as they’re as easy as dragging and dropping files, and will give you much more flexibility ??
