Search feature structure

  • Hi I have been attempting to test different plugins to see if can create a custom search for an existing wordpress site. Wondering if anyone has attempted this before because I keep running into a wall.

    I will be adding Dr’s profile to the site and the search functionality would search those profiles. Dr.’s Profiles will be added as Posts. Post function will only be used for these profiles and nothing else.

    The Search will give the option to search by Location OR Name

    Search Location option will be Search Zip Code OR City

    Search Name will be search name only

    Post Title will be the Name so I am assuming that Search will be a keyword search of post titles? This would need to be a text search not a drop down.

    When searched the posts/results will appear on a search results page.

    Do I add Zip Codes and Cities as Taxonomies or Custom Fields?

    Can anyone recommended how to structure this and if a combination of plugins will work?
